Undercrown

Described by Drew Estate as an “inverse Liga Privada,” Undercrown’s blend consists of many of the same tobaccos found in Drew Estate’s popular Liga Privada No. 9 and T52 lines, but with a twist. As the story goes, the torcedores in the Drew Estate cigar factory were smoking too many Liga Privadas, depleting the inventory of Connecticut wrapper. So the rollers used the same tobaccos found in the Liga Privada binder and filler, only from different vintages and primings on the plant. Then they covered the new blend in dark Mexican San Andrés Negro wrapper, and Undercrown was born. In 2015, Drew Estate added a lighter version that uses Connecticut-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador.
