Now in its fourth generation of producing fine pipe tobaccos, the Stokkebye family tradition began with Erik Peter Stokkebye, born in 1855, and continues to this day with bespoke blends, many paying homage to important dates in their family history.
The 1989 Max Erik blend is a special release from the Danish brand, and has been named in honor of the birth year of Max Erik, Erik Stokkebye’s son. This addition is representative of the 5th generation which will eventually lead the company, looking toward the future’s possibilities and celebrating the continuation of the family’s craft. The blend comprises a combination of ripe Virginia tobaccos from Georgia and the Carolinas which have been pressed into cakes for a week before being sliced into flakes. Delicious and subtly sweet, 1989 is sure to appeal to enthusiasts of pure Virginia blends crafted with care.
