SUPERBLY bench-made by J.M. Boswell from the top specimen grain of our briarwood. This handsome Black Coal Freehand will feel right at home in your hand.
BLACK coal rustication covered the entire bowl of this pipe leaving the shank a smooth natural finish. Rusticated by hand the old world way, with a fine wood chisel. Every gouge-cut has to be just right.
EACH individual piece of briar determines the eventual shape of the pipe in the hands of J.M. Boswell. He doesn’t plan or draw out what he is making, he just reaches for a block of briarwood and starts cutting and shaping. His whole heart and soul is in crafting these pipes.
