Christmas 2024 2024 - LARGE NATURAL BLONDE FREEHAND pipe by JM Boswell is outstanding. Fits in my hand and smokes like a wonderful dream. Easy clean draw, cool smoking pipe. A unique master piece which I really enjoy and is my 3rd JM Boswell pipe.

I’m a younger(24)/newer pipe smoker that grew up watching my grandfather work his day with a pipe in his mouth. Smelling the sweet aromatic aroma of vanilla linger wherever he was. Which got me into this beautiful pass time. Walking into the Boswells for the very first time instantly put a smile on my face as I was hit with the beautiful aroma of the various tobaccos. I found interest in an estate pipe for my very first pipe. The tobacconist listened to my story and suggested I try “Boswells Best” which I instantly fell in love with the smoothness and unique taste of Boswell tobacco. Fast forward to now and I have just purchased my very first Boswell pipe and I am nothing but impressed. The craftsmanship and the extra step that Boswell takes for their customers is amazing! This will NOT be my last Boswell pipe as I fell in love with it as soon as I took it out of the box. Thank you Boswell family for providing an amazing product and care for your customers!

So many things I want to say, but I'll try to keep it short. Just received my new Boswell jumbo deep bend pipe in the mail yesterday, although I wouldn't call it just a pipe, more of a functional piece of artwork. Clearly made with experience, care, and pride, which to me, equals 'High quality'. Very happy with this new piece in my collection. (my apologies for no photo) To the folks at Boswell pipes, for your outlook toward customers, and your quality of product, let me quote the late great Tina Turner and say ''You're simply the best''.. Smokey Piper

I’ve been smoking Boswell pipes and tobaccos since the mid-90s when I lived in Austin, TX. Northwoods is far and away my favorite blend. Right now, I have about a half dozen Boswells in my small collection, but I’m looking to increase that number. This particular beauty is one of my favorites: the Shot Shell pipe. I’ve owned this one since 2015 when I lived in San Francisco. I brought it along for 18 months to Brooklyn, and today I’m smoking it at my home in the Dutch village of De Goorn, Netherlands. It’s light as a feather, easy to hold in my mouth, has a wonderful feel and finish…and of course, it smokes perfectly. I don’t know of anyone who makes better pipes and tobaccos than Boswell’s. Thank you to the whole Boswell family for the richness that you bring to our shared passion for pipes.

This is one of many Boswell pipes that I own. They are all individual, unique and smoke amazingly well. The level of craftsmanship and pure, unadulterated artistry is without peer.
But even better than the pipes is J.M. himself, who is without question one of the finest human beings that I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing.

I currently have 16 JM Boswell pipes. I am a raving fan of JM and the entire Boswell family. But when asked which one is your favorite it is this Um Paul sitter.

Although I own pipes from Dunhill, L'Anatra, Peterson and others, this Boswell has by far become my most favorite and cherished pipe. The very first time I smoked it, it smoked like an old friend. To top it off, the customer service from the Boswell family is top notch. Any future pipes I buy, will have a J.M. Boswell signature on it.

Received my third Boswell jewel, the pictured Black Cherry Poker. As expected it is perfection. The Boswell clan definitely has pipe making down to an art. Great people to deal with and Rachel keeps the information flowing .

This entire setup is my go to place to kick back and relax and everything inside the desk and I mean everything inside u see is from Boswells. All 3 pipes, tobacco, maintenance equipment, old boy lighter etc.

Finally successful acquiring a Boswell Jumbo. Flawless straight grain freehand sitter. Been piping for 55 years and finally found my dream pipe. Thank you J.M and Rachel. You are a real pleasure to deal with. I'll be back for sure.

It's my opinion that theJ.M. Boswell family are of the highest quality as are all their handcrafted pipes and tobacco. I haven't purchased any other brand pipe since I purchased a estate Boswell and my fist new Boswell. They as is their service the best.

JM Boswell’s is more than a pipe and tobacco shop. It is a wonderful and personal place with help, advise/suggestions, and the best pipes and tobacco blends available. I wanted to send a thank you to J.M for his excellent work in creating a new stem for my calabash pipe. The pipe is special to me because it was made by a local Boise, Idaho Carver, Thayne Robertson, who is no longer alive. He ran a pipe store in Boise for over 30 years and although not prolific, he made many beautiful pipes. They are hard to come by these days and I am blessed to own two of his pipes.
The stem on this pipe broke during a tragic fall from the pipe rack. I sent it back for repair. I asked J.M to craft a new stem exactly the way he would make it for himself and if possible improve the draft on the pipe.
After receiving the pipe back, I was so impressed I had to call and say thank you. I was able to speak with Rachel over the phone. I promised I would send a picture of me with the pipe and a personal thank you for the amazing work. I sat down today to Smoke this pipe and was so pleased by how much better it smoked!
I’m smoking a Personal mixture that I enjoy very much it is, 25% Latakia and 75% Boswell’s Best. A delightful, rich, smoky flavor with all the smooth notes found in Boswell’s Best.

Been smoking Boswell's pipes for ten years. Smoking Boswell blends puts me in my happy place here in NW Wyoming.

Just wanted to tell you that of the 270+ pipes in my collection, most of which are from renowned pipe carvers, this lava rock pipe that you carved that I bought unused from a third-party, is absolutely the best pipe I have ever smoked in my life at any price from any pipe carver. It is simply the best. Thank you for making it.

I needed a good quality pipe primarily for several of my English Blends. I wanted a pipe that was rugged enough to take with me on my motorcycle trips, but was well made, looked good and was a great smoker. When I found the Boswell Shotshell, I knew it fit the bill. I am heavily involved in Texas History, and the history behind the Boswell name and family pipe business was icing on the cake.

Getting my hands on one was a challenge that Rachel helped me solve. She got me in line to get the next one her father made and the rest is history. Thank you Rachel.

I have not had a cigar in about 20 years. I walked into J.M. Boswell's for some expert advice and I received exactly that. This man doesn't just talk the talk he's the real deal. Even if you are a novice like myself or an aficionado of all things tobacco, the warm and friendly demeanor he exhibits will make you feel like you have known him for years.

Now about the cigar....I took this one to Aspen Dale winery in VA yesterday. It was a perfect match to my Chambeau Nouveau Red Wine, Taza Dark Mexican chocolate and fresh apricots. From the first puff it wraps a ring of sweet mocca on the edge of your lips. Perfectly chosen, Thank you J.M.

Over the last couple of months I've sent a number of pipes in for stem repair/replacement. I'm over the moon the with the result. All of these pipes are pretty old, and they smoke better now than they did originally. It's very much like having new pipes without the bother of breaking them in. I believe one of the reasons is that Boswell's stems are considerably more comfortable than those made by other craftsmen. I'm planning to send in other pipes for stem replacement, even though they're fine now, just for the stems!.

To add to the positivity of this experience, working with Rachel has been a joy. She's smart, professional, and personable. I haven't experienced such good customer service in a very long time!

I could think of no other name than Piper's Pleasure. That is the explanation, also for the apostrophe being behind the s....It is her pleasure alone. Second, my oldest daughter Lydia is pictured with her. In February I ordered a pipe that I saw on your website that had a beautiful gray stem....I called and had it engraved "The Lydia Gray" since that is her first and middle name. I am honored that J.M. Boswell named the tobacco such, and I promise that the only tobacco I will ever smoke out of "The Lydia Gray" will be "Piper's Pleasure". Thank you so much. Donavan Young."

A Great American Pass Time

I had the pleasure of meeting the Boswell family 24 years ago, when I first visited J.M.'s shop in Chambersburg, PA. J.M and his son Dan, custom hand make pipes from the best imported briar in the world.

I particularly enjoy a bowl of Boswell's custom blended tobacco, such as Boswell's Best and North Woods, in one of my favorite Boswell pipes.

I purchased my first Boswell pipe in 1995 and presently own five. Needless to say, J.M.'s pipes stand the test of time.

J.M. and Dan create quality pipes at an affordable price. Customers who purchase Boswell pipes and tobacco, are in for a treat.
