USING a high-powered magnifying glass, there may be a few natural imperfections.
WITH every Boswell pipe made, the airway is hand-bored (not using a lathe). This is why the airway will always provide the smoker with a full draw and allow for a fuller, smoother smoke. J.M. finds that the old-fashioned way of doing so completes his pipes.
EACH piece of briar determines the eventual shape of the pipe in the hands of J.M. Boswell. He doesn’t plan or draw out what he is making; he just reaches for a block of briarwood and starts cutting and shaping. His whole heart and soul are in crafting these pipes. It’s truly amazing to watch.
