John Aylesbury Blue 100g Tin

Golden, red and dark crosscut Virginia tobaccos show their vivid charming and fanciful leaves. Brown Cavendish and nutty burley are adding depth and a light sweet note. This blend is topped with fresh juicy limes and full-bodied maple mixed with caramel. A great tobacco, delicious and rich

The tin is really nice but it is a fingerprint and smudge magnet, definitely not airtight. The tobacco is very dry, the driest of the dozen I have on hand, and was packaged in cellophane that is just taped down. I don’t know when this collection came out; there is also a black, red, and green tin, each of which are a unique blend. The strongest taste is sweet limes, sometimes it hits just like Sprite or 7up. I like it in my bent egg sipper but it gets my featherweight short Dublin too hot, bummer because it hits nice in a short pipe. A little tongue bite but it is ZESTY and therefore quite a pleasant part of the experience. I don’t detect any maple except maybe on nose exhale but I do often get a hit of a nice light caramel, though not as much as I desired. If you like bright citrus and need it sweet, I doubt you will be disappointed. The closest taste of this to me is a Euro Flavor Yellow Grapefruit with some INW Shisha Lime and Super Sweet added if you are familiar with vape juice flavors. It burns super nicely due to being dry, makes white ash, stays lit easily. I am trying mixing it with moister single note tobaccos to add some more creaminess like Lane MV-1000 and CAO Moontrance, which seems to help get the flavor I want and slower burn. I like it with Boswell’s Peaches and Cream, which I bought in the same order. I got this as a late birthday present to myself and very pleased with it. I like this a lot but I’m not so in love with it that I want the last two tins so I am posting this review if you stumbled across this page to inform your decision. I will probably also get the green tin from this collection (coconut, nuts, tropical fruit). If you like dry, bright sweet citrus, and want a cool tin, get this.
